Chuckie Dreyfus is a Philippine movie actor whose movie-acting career started in 1984 with the movie, “Idol”, in which he played the sidekick of Philippine action star, Rudy Fernandez.
He is also a co-owner and one of the driving forces of “CD Sound Labs”, a digital recording studio founded in the year 2000 in partnership with Jun Regalado. What started out as a simple hobby and a makeshift recording studio in his bedroom has turned into his prime preoccupation. Today, “CD Sound Labs” offers full multi-track digital recording at 32-bit processing, 24-bit/192 khz and higher sampling rates, musical arrangements, commercial jingle production, television/movie scoring and soundtrack, audio/visual presentation, midi sequencing, sound design, foleys/SFX, audio mastering/re-mastering, Album/Graphic Design, CD transferring and CD Duplication.
Chuckie learned midi sequencing and arranging by himself in between movie and television projects and he eventually started arranging musical numbers for other artists going on road-shows and concert tours. Apart from this, Chuckie also started arranging medleys and special song numbers for “GMA Supershow” and “That’s Entertainment”. This innate musical talent was further honed when he began to concentrate on his own musical compositions which resulted to the songs: “The Luv Bug”, “Keep On Walking”, “Let’s Go Retro”, “Hiling”, and “Kahit Na” of the album “The Luv Bug” which was released by the “REtroSPECT” band under Alpha Records.
Apart from this, Chuckie is busy working on other record album projects as well as commercial and political jingles. He is a member of FILSCAP, a member of the Judging & Screening Committee for the “Awit Awards” for the past 7 years. Chuckie also composed the song “The Quiz Bee Dream” for the Quiz Bee Foundation. He also produced the theme song of ABS-CBN’s teen show “SCQ Reload” entitled “Kilig Ako”… a song which he also composed and was performed by Sarah Geronimo.
Chuckie is also the composer of Rachelle Ann Go’s certified hit song entitled, “Bakit”, included in her album, “I Care”, under Viva Records. “Bakit”, also became the the theme song of ABS-CBN’s evening telenovela, “Mirada de Mujer”.
He is the Musical Director of television shows such as “SCQ Reload” (ABS-CBN), “SCQpids” (ABS-CBN), “Pinoy Big Brother (Primers)” (ABS-CBN), “Blind Item” (ABC-5), “Your Song” (ABS-CBN) and much more.
He is also the Musical Director of such movies as “Masikip Sa Dibdib” (Viva Films), “D’ Anothers” (Star Cinema), “Binibining K” (Regal Films), and “Agent X44” (Star Cinema).
Chuckie recently composed and arranged the theme song of QTV-11’s newest game show, “Game Show Mo ‘To” hosted by German “Kuya Germs” Moreno. The theme song entitled, “Appear Disappear”, which was performed by the “Baywalk Bodies”, will also be released by the sexy group as their carrier single for their upcoming album this June 2007.
He also has 2 compositions (“Miss” & “Kahit Na”) included in Sarah Geronimo’s upcoming album entitled, “Taking Flight”, which will be released under Viva Records by mid-August 2007.
Besides his numerous audio/musical endeavors, he also dabbles in Web Design and Site Development.
On March 24, 2001, Charles J. Dreyfus tied the knot with Marie Aileen Regina L. Bayani at the Santuario de San Jose Church in Greenhills. They are blessed with two lovely children, a boy named Ralph Austin Henry and a little girl named Isabella Louise. Hobbies include: Collecting DVD movies, bodybuilding, baseball caps, surfing the net, bumming around the house, texting funny anecdotes and jokes to his hapless friends, malling and dining out, hanging out in coffee shops, blogging the night away and bodybuilding.

Oh my God, I just clicked on the link about the WordCamp event in Manila, saw that you were one of the organizers, and looked for your blog to see if you were the Chuckie Dreyfus I knew from my childhood. And it turns out that you are the Chuckie Dreyfus I knew from my childhood!!! I used to have the biggest crush on you. 😉 Still remember when I was about 9 or 10, my cousins and I looked you up in the yellow pages, found your number, and called you. You were so friendly, entertaining us even though, I’m willing to bet right now, we probably didn’t make any sense at all. Anyways, it’s quite a pleasant surprise that you are a fellow blogger.

hi, im just sitting on my chair, waiting for something to do… i thought of some songs which ive had through the years… theyre not great…but theyre something…sometimes i think theyre the bill and teds type lol.and then somehow your name seems to be ringing in my head in chito’s voice…it said MR Chuckie dreyfus with echo, probably due to that parokya ni edgar song… but no matter, so i decided to search your name… wrong spelling pa nga. led me here… i noticed you had this make shift studio of some sort and process bit formats and stuff…. i am familliar with midi but dont know much really. i use this vanbasco player to play certain drum loops, then i mumute ko yung other intruments… then sabayan ko ng guitar… then save it in whatever bit quality, then load the song in winamp the record the song again with bass, then do the same process with keyboard, everything done in pc, but the one thing i cant do is sing them, or add some lyrics on half of them. the main recorder i use is polderbits coz its simple, although protools would be nice…. i think ive got like 16 tracks… dunno but 5 of them i regard as my best. i get inspiration from wherever i get stuck… like in an airport at heathrow waiting for my wife to arrive from manila, a jeepney traffic near a cockpit arena……, or a tune in my dream, a hum from nothingness… or a certain harmony— whatever that is from the guitar or keyboard, i describe my music as a mix of boston, dream theatre 38 special eheads limp bizkit old opm… if there was an ehead head that would probly be me. ill upload the songs in youtube one of these days at the moment i couldnt coz the songs got no voice, + no vid to go. moreover ive got no time as i work as a nurse in a critical care unit and a 3 month old daughter. i believe you are a song writer now… pwede ko bang i email sayo??? can you make it heard??? id probably settle with you getting them famous than i release it free on youtube, maybe someone my a voice a band can sing them, that is my only wish.this music inside me only gets out sundays at st josephs, i can email them to you if you have time,. well then it was nice talking to myself… its been nice. cheers. —- did i just do a blog?
