Old school fans will love this! Looks like the 80s are making a strong comeback, what with the success of Transformers, etc. Check out the teaser poster below and behold!
I recently discovered this teaser poster for an upcoming “Knight Rider” movie for 2008. Kitt looks awesome… back in its heyday, a talking car, car chases, etc (turbo boost and all that) seemed pretty breathtaking and futuristic. I wonder how they will manage to pull this off for the younger generation as well as old school fans of the hit series.
Wow this is exciting!!! after superman, spiderman, transformers–knight rider!!?? bumabalik ang alaala ng aking (ng ating??) kabataan 🙂 so do you know whether David Hasselhoff take the driver’s seat again???
“whether David Hasselhoff WILL take” I mean. 🙂
Hi Jim…
From what I’ve heard… producers want Ben Affleck. Hmmm… not so sure if that’ll work… 😛
i think they are bringing back the 80’s because the “kids” in that “era” are the paying members of the working force ngayon. the 20-to-30-something folks who have money to spend, and a memory to relive. hehehe!
thanks for sharing! i hope si hasselhoff pa rin. affleck CAN’T act. i couldn’t put it more subtly. =P although hesselhoff can’t act either, at least he’s the original. hehehe!
i actually didn’t understand well how the story of this series goes way back then (im too young to understand hehe) but I always watch this whenever I can 😉 Something to look forward to again. I think Ben Affleck would be nice to see here, though my mind is thinking of Paul Wallker on that car. LOL!
i dnt know f dats necessary — some tv classix jst dnt need to be remade i.e. Miami Vice and Starsy & Hutch. I wonder how deyl mke an armed talking car look cool NOW in dis day and age. Sure, David Hasselhoff fitted it then but as long as he doesnt do a cameo in dis…it should be fine lol Man pg c Affleck nga yng kinuha, hhintayin ko nlng yan sa DVD… n pir8ted! lol Oh and btw, although der were no “F Words” dis tym… Die Hard 4.0 kicked serious ass!
SGP:
Yeah… I’d like to see David Hasslehoff in the film too but might be a liability in terms of marketability and he’s pretty old as well (unless he can get into shape)…
CRYST:
Haha… paul walker! Fast and the Furious, right?
Uy! Frank! Shit! Napanood mo na Die Hard 4.0?!!! Aaarrrgghhh! Papanoorin ko pa lang eh…! Well, nice to know maganda ang reviews. At least I know it’ll be good!
LOL -> DVD na pirated! Hahaha! KITT looks awesome in the teaser poster though. I agree, I don’t know how they’ll manage to make a talking car look cool in this day and age.
Ano kaya itsura ni GOLIATH? Hahaha! Baka maging OPTIMUS PRIME! Hahaha!
paul walker!!! from the F&F fame, hehe! 🙂
dunno why but Vin Diesel suddenly popped on my mind… parang bagay sya dun sa kotse eh. 😀
they are probably gonna make Kitt more futuristic than what’s in the series. i just hope they’d keep the running red LED lights when he’s talking. hehehe! taking that away would be like taking away Superman’s famous phonebooth scenes, or his Clark Kent eyeglasses. hehe!
Nice find! 😀 I hope it’s not Ben Affleck though …
The new modern version of KITT is pretty sharp but in my own opinion nothing can replace the “classic” version. When I hear the Knight Rider theme song, the 1980s version of KITT is the only thing that comes to mind and I don’t think any car can replace it.
This morning, I visited 80sTees.com. They had a poll for best vehicle of the 80s and of course I voted for KITT. The site also had a variety of Knight Rider t-shirts and merchandise. For anyone interested check out http://www.80stees.com and vote for your favorite!
The 80s is making a comeback hehehe.
Hi Kelly!
Of course nothing beats the original car… but I understand why they have to change KITT’s look. For today’s generation, the classic KITT version will look so outdated. As much as producers would like to appeal to the old school generation… there are a lot of bucks to be made with the younger crowd as well. Hence the dilemma. So, this is probably their middle ground. Will check out that site for sure! I’d love to score some of those cool 80s merchandise! Thanks for dropping by!
Hey Kat!
Yep. 80s is definitely back! Nothing beats the 80s! Though I wouldn’t want to go back to my old eighties hairdo and get-up. Those were embarrassingly forgetful! Haha! 😀
this will definitely bring in a rush of memories. glad you dug this up and shared it here.
This remembers me I’m getting old =P
Hi Javier… yeah… when it seems that you remember things that most people don’t, it means you’re certainly getting old. But as they all say… “men are like wine…”, you get the idea. Hehehe…
I’ve heard pati Macross magkakaroon ng movie … napaghahalata mga age natin no? hahaha!
Hi Ann!
Haha… yeah… Macross… hay! Napaghahalata na nga ang mga edad natin…! We may not have had “Cartoon Network” back then, but our shows were way way better! Kaya puro recycle na lang sila eh… hehe! Even G.I. Joe is in the works and will be brought to the big screen. Bleh! 😛
yea i think most people want hasselehoff back in 2008 that would be great. even though i wasn’t around in that era i still love knight rider just as much. ( or even more).
Oh “it fell” alright. Right onto the ash heap of history. How NOT to make an updated version of a beloved franchise. I am a fan of that franchise too.
Here is my take on season 1 (with pics) if you are interested:
