A little video we took of my little Isabella playing a little game she invented with her mom called, “Opposite”… The game is simple: Just say something negative to each other and then say, “Opposite”, at the end… hahaha… well, it’s cuter than it sounds… just watch, you see what I mean. LOL!

A Photo Interview

Emergency @ Home
It’s been a while since I last posted… give or take a few days. 2 nights ago, my little boy got into an accident at home while I was away taking my wife to work.
Apparently, he was taking a bath and he stooped down to soap his feet. What he didn’t realize was that he was too close to the wall and the soap dish’s water drain (a little pointed spout) was just above him. This wasn’t the type of soap holder that’s usually seen with 2 suction caps sticking to the wall. This one was ceramic and installed “into” the wall.
After soaping up his legs and feet, he stood up… so quick that he didn’t realize how close he was to the pointed object. BUMP!!! Right on the top of his noggin!
And as with all head cuts, these usually tend to be very bloody. So, with all the water from his hair that came from the shower together with the gush of blood from his injury, it flowed all over his face… and down his body.
According to my dad (who was at my place and saw the incident), my little girl was freaking out and crying… scared and filled with concern that her big brother’s condition might get worse. So, they immediately applied first aid, they cut the hair around the affected area and placed medication for the wound. They called me up as well as my wife via cellphone… I was on my way home then and my misis just arrived at work.
I rushed home and checked if everything was ok… the situation was handled competently and my little boy was already getting ready for bed. A few minutes after I arrived, I got a text message from my wife informing me that she was told (ordered, actually) to head back home due to what had just happened.
Next day we took our kid to the hospital to have his wound cleaned properly and for a routine checkup just so we know that “we’re in the clear” with regards to complications that may arise due to the sensitive area wherein my boy had been hit.
He underwent a “skull series” to make sure there were no fractures (Thank, God!).
I just hope it doesn’t happen again… although we know that accidents ARE indeed accidents. They occur unexpectedly. But to the best of our abilities, we can somehow minimize the probabilities by taking all necessary precautions and preparations.
Live and Let Live(r) Pate!
Boy am I lucky to have a wifey that loves to cook and make different kinds of dishes… and is damn good at it! She just prepared a whole container of LIVER PATE for me which, in my honest opinion, is way way better than those sold at Santies or Almon Marina or any other delicatessen shop you could think of.
Yum! Pate on my left… whole wheat Crostini on my right… iced tea (light, mind you!) and late night television to keep me company… doesn’t get any better than this! Unless the wifey’s beside me… and “sexy time” comes next! LOL!
But not soon after eating…! (Baka magka-appendicitis eh!) Hahaha!
Simple Prayer…
So fascinating how a simple prayer with my wife on the way to her office made all the difference between being burdened by the weight of the world and being able to feel like you could move mountains by sheer will…
So amazing the power of prayer.
“In truth I tell you once again, if two of you on earth agree to ask anything at all, it will be granted to you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three meet in my name, I am there among them.”
- Matthew 18:19-20
Homemade Patata!
Anong binatbat ng “Lay’s” at “Ruffles” dito! Haha!
My wife decided to fry some homemade potato chips sprinkled with salt and cracked pepper… she did it on a whim and *tada*… delicious, scrumptious, crispy, crunchy, snacks ready to be devoured!
The only thing missing is the television set in front of me and a couple of good DVD movies to go along with the golden delights! Haha… but it won’t be for long! … now where did I put that remote?!
The Sweet Life
My little girl, Isabella, and I recently guested on a taped episode of QTV’s early evening show, “The Sweet Life”, hosted by Lucy Torres-Gomez. The show is scheduled to air on August 22, 2007 and my pretty baby is really excited to watch herself on television when it comes out.
I’m posting a few photos taken during the taping but you won’t find me in any of them since I was the proud daddy behind the camera taking the shots. She obviously got more exposure than I did…! Haha… Oh well, the makings of another artista, I guess! She seems to be enjoying the limelight. She even started making handwritten invitations to distribute to her classmates and teachers tomorrow informing them that she’ll be coming out on tv! She even keeps telling me, “Daddy, artista na ako!”… hay! The last time I heard her say it was just earlier over dinner. Hehe!
Anyhow, hope you enjoy the slideshow below!
The Most Trying of Times…
The best of times… the worst of times… no matter how it seems that things will work out, there are just days when the walls appear to be caving in on you.
We are ultimately what our decisions make us to be in the here and now. Decisions that, during then, seemed the “right” thing to do… and consequently realizing that what you thought then was justifiable and calculated, actually is a costly mistake which has become seemingly irreparable.
This… is my now. The predicament I’m in is clear. I have dreaded it but somehow denied what I have consciously known long before… that things would have to be confronted eventually.
I speak in abstract due to the fact that I cannot divulge what has been eating away at me for the longest time… yet, blogging about it, has given me an outlet to vent out my anxieties.
These are my most trying of times… for these are the times when I search inside myself and realize that all my strength and conviction has long gone and have no one else but my wife to seek support and consolation from. Normally, I would shield my wife from pain and suffering… from the torment of worries and despair. But now it is in her arms that I seek refuge and in her words that I find faith and solace.
Today… it is not I… but she… who cries… for me… for us.
I thank her.
It is in these times that I realize how fortunate I am to have found a partner, a friend, a confidant… a wife, who supports me and unconditionally loves me.
And through her strength in me, through her faith and belief in all the good there is to come in our lives… I will find the courage to right my wrongs… and to make straight what has long been bent… regardless of what consequences lay ahead and of which should be laid down on me.
I pray for guidance… for the storm has just begun…
Today… there is no way around it…
I won’t allow it.
I confront it head on… here and now.
CD Sound Labs
Hello, my avid “Bloggies” (short for “Blog Buddies”! Earlier today I was busy working on a new CD Sound Labs site, which I put up through WordPress as well.
I used to actually maintain a site for my recording studio but realized that it would make no difference if I had it under WordPress instead, so I moved everything there. In fact, maintaining and updating the articles will be easier since I’d be using the ever-reliable WordPress editor.
You can checkout the new “CD Sound Labs” website here.
Know the studio’s latest projects and current endeavors. Plus, be able to listen to additional audio clips never before featured!
Don’t forget to sign the guestbook on your way out, ok?
Last week, we attended our little princess Isabella’s graduation in Mandaluyong. It was the first time she actually participated in a big event… they’ve had school programs and productions before but not in this magnitude.
She was very excited to be graduating and that she couldn’t wait to perform with her other classmates in front of so many people.
I am posting below some of the images taken during this very memorable event. Congratulations, my little girl! I love you so much…! Daddy is so proud of you! (In my angel’s words) “Muah! One hundred million thousand times!”
6th Anniversary Pics!
As promised, here are some of the shots taken during our 6th Wedding Anniversary get-away! Enjoy!
Back from Bliss!
Hey hey hey! Chuckster’s back! Boy, was I surprised last Saturday during our anniversary.
My wife leaves me at home around lunchtime (pretending) to do a few errands before our BIG celebration. She went to Hotel Intercon, with an excuse that there was a conference that she just had to appear at (for attendance sake).
She then messages me… “Hon, pick me up here at Hotel Intercon around 3pm… go to room XXX and help me carry some stuff back to the car. Park at the basement na muna.”
Hmmm… okay, I said. So I did just that. I parked below and to the lift to the room she specified.
I knocked… and just like a horror movie, the door opens with no one to greet me (obviously she was behind the door and didn’t want me to notice her). The room was pitch dark. I went in slowly… then I noticed candles all over the room (even inside the bathroom)… they were placed on tables, sinks, by the television set, everywhere! Then I noticed a bunch of roses placed on the bed…! Awwww…. how sweet! She popped up behind me and hugged me… “Happy Anniversary, Honey!”, she said… “Pasensya na ito lang ang nakayanan ko…”.
I was overjoyed! She actually setup a 3-day 2-night stay at a hotel so we could enjoy our anniversary with no one else to bother us. We had a wonderful time! We went to the mall (right beside the hotel), we had lunch and dinner out, watched a movie late in the evening (she picked the movie…) then headed back to our room (“sexy time”… bwehehehehe!).
Next day, we missed our kids so much that we requested to transfer to a room with 2 beds. We had the kids brought over by their lolo and they stayed the 2nd night. They went swimming… we went malling again… they had so much fun!
Next morning, we had breakfast delivered to our room and the kids went swimming again just before lunchtime. They had a small picnic-ish snack beside the pool. Afterwards, it was time to get ready to check-out. So, around 2pm we headed back home. It was the best get-away I’ve had in a long time.
Thanks, hon! I really appreciate all the effort you put into your anniversary surprise. Sarap ng 2nd Honeymoon! Bwehehehe… Love you so much, hon!
(Pics to be posted soon!)
Getting ready for the BIG Day!
We will be celebrating our 6th Wedding Anniversary in a few hours… My wife has a surprise for me that she has kept, oh so tightly for the past months. A few days ago I’ve been trying to pry it out of her but she just won’t budge! I really don’t know what’ll happen tomorrow… all I know is that we’ll be gone for 3 days and 2 nights heading off to God knows where. I’m really excited!
If there’s an internet cafe anywhere near the place we’ll be staying, then I’ll update my blog as soon as I can get my hands on a keyboard. If there isn’t any, well… tough luck, I guess.
According to my wife, she wants to at least match my 1st year anniversary surprise to her.
Flashback to our 1st Year Anniversary celebration:
With the help of some friends, I’ve managed to secretly set-up my ninang’s (godmother’s) house in Greenhills Subdivision with floating candles and rose petals on the swimming pool and all over the vast garden… on the center of the area, I placed a large tent cover over a table where our candlelit dinner was going to be. On the table were all her favorite dishes (steak, oysters rockefeller, wine, pastries). I used the best silverware as well. I hired a flutist, guitarist and a violinist to play her favorite love songs all night long during our dinner.
I took her there pretending that I was just dropping off something for my dad before heading to our actual dinner date. She was even kinda antsy wondering why I had to run some errands during our special day.
At the gate, I asked her to come in instead and greet my ninang before leaving so as not to be disrespectful (wink-wink)! So we went in… the whole place was so dark. I pulled her to the garden/swimming pool area pretending that our ninang “might” be there waiting for us.
Then, as soon as we got there… she noticed the musicians which started playing “The Promise”, it was the music used for our wedding march… She then slowly noticed the petals scattered all over the floor, the small candles on the grass and floating on the pool. The candles forming the walkway to the dinner table. Only then did she realize that THAT was our Anniversary Dinner… then I took her by the hand, held her close and danced under the moon and stars with roses and hundreds of little candles surrounding us. She slowly cried… and hugged me. She couldn’t believe I planned everything so intricately for that one special night.
Everything was perfect.
So, going back to tomorrow’s BIG day… I am in the dark as to what my wife has in store… whatever it may be, regardless of how big or small, I’m sure it’ll be great.
As long as it comes from my wife…
As long as she’s with me…
As long as we spend countless anniversaries till we grow old and wrinkly…
As long as we have “sexy time”!
Bwehehehe!
Honey…
Hey, hon! In case you’re reading my blog during one of your much needed breaks there in the office… just wanted to thank you for the wonderful morning surprise!
<wink! wink!>
Hee-hee! Sorry… just can’t get it out of my head… bwehehehe! My day has become a whole lot better because of “that”. Muah!
Sa uulitin! Bwehehehe… Luv ya! Muah!
