Every now and then a song comes along that touches your heart and makes you all warm and fuzzy inside. A song that you easily relate to the first time you listen to it. Not necessarily a “love song” or a “mushy ballad” per se.
An example of this is a track entitled, “Home”, included in Chris Daughtry’s (“Daughtry”) self-titled album. “Daughtry”, is now number one in album sales with over 1,500,000 copies sold to date.
The song talks about yearning to return to a place where everything feels safe… where nothing ever mattered to you but just being there. “There” being anything you would consider to be “home”… a memory, a lover, your partner’s reassuring embrace, your mother and father’s unconditional love, your childhood playground, your children’s innocent laughter… anything. That one place you always run to when the day is through… when you’ve had enough and the world has left you battered and broken.
