Optimus

Dreamworks Pictures recently released a new photo of Optimus Prime to promote their upcoming and highly-anticipated live action movie, Transformers.  The film which is directed by Michael Bay and executive produced by Steven Spielberg comes out on July 4, 2007!

Kids who grew up in the 1980s definitely know all about these characters.  They were the hottest animation series during its day!  Optimus, Sound Wave, Megatron, Bumblebee, Starscream, Rumble, Jazz, the list goes on and on…

 

“American Idol” tonight!

Well, it’s Wednesday again and that only means that it’s “American Idol” again tonight!  Yipee!  I really love the audition episodes… it’s like most of them really believe that they can carry a tune when in fact it’s total disaster when they open their mouths!  Either some of ‘em are just plain stupid, dense… or are doing it intentionally to have their 15 minutes of fame.

Once again, the lot of them took a hilarious bashing from Idol judge, Simon Cowell… but what really stood out for me the most during the Seattle episode was when it was Kenneth Briggs’ turn to make his impression…

Simon on Kenneth:

“You look a little odd. The dancing is terrible. The singing was horrendous and you look like one of those creatures that live in the jungle with those massive eyes. What do they call them? Bush babies.”

New band in the family?

Last night I had a meeting here in my recording studio with a new band that was seeking the services of “CD Sound Labs Artist Management”.  The “band” (I won’t mention the name for now) has been together for about 8 years already playing here and there but not really getting anywhere.  Last night was sort of an evaluation, so to speak.  They’re a bunch of cool guys actually… very respectable and very passionalte about their music.  Not to mention that their vocalist is a prolific songwriter as well.

The are just some things that need to be ironed out before before going any further.  Tying loose ends… and cutting clean with their previous handler so as to avoid any kind of complication.  Looks promising, though.  I’ll most likely be posting more articles about them in the future but only when everything has been put down in black and white.
