I left this morning with my kids and my dad to pick up my wife at the Holiday Inn Resort in Angeles, Pampanga. On our way there, just coming out of the viaduct (that looooong bridge along the NLEX just before the San Fernando exit), my dad and I heard a weird sound coming from the front passenger side. It sounded as if a piece of plastic was stuck to the front tire and was slapping the road as the wheel turned. We thought little of it and continued on towards the Angeles and Dau exits. But as soon as we decided to ignore the problem, the steering wheel started to wobble. Then it wobbled harder and harder.
We saw a Petron gas station after a few meters and decided to have their mechanic take a look at it. Little did we
know that we were so close to having our front tire blow-up. The tire’s rubber was split in two and was already running with its steel belt totally exposed. I wonder what could’ve caused it to rip apart like that. The tire was perfectly fine before we left Manila up until we got past the viaduct.
According to the mechanic, had we not stopped to have the problem checked… our vehicle could’ve flipped over by the sudden jerk and spin produced by the tire’s probable burst. Who knows what kind of injuries and extent of harm that mishap would’ve caused… not to mention that my kids were inside the vehicle as well.
We had our tire replaced and continued our journey to Clark. It was smooth sailing all the way back home. Thank God nothing happened… It just goes to show that even when you think everything is perfect, something can still go wrong at a time when you least expect it.

Everytime I travel, I always pray the Guardian Angel Prayer. I believe there’s always an angel guarding and protecting us. You and your family will be included in my prayer also.
Very true. Guardian Angels do exist.
BTW, nice new look of you blog.

Thank you. Likewise, we never forget to pray before any kind of travel… even if it’s just a short distance away. I’m very thankful nothing happened. Funny coz just before we left the house, the picture frame of our wedding picture at the living room fell and the glass broke. Omen maybe? Hmmm… :/
