More “Candles” songs…

Thought of featuring 2 more Candles songs which are also included in their self-titled album.

The first one is entitled, “Weekend Love”, a very commercial sounding track that tells a story of a guy who bumps into a girl one day and falls head over heels for her… really fun to listen to.

The second song entitled, “6:15”, is more serious and talks about a relationship gone sour. It elaborates on the events that transpired during the breakup. It was titled as such cause 6:15 was the time the split-up happened. This track showcases a little more edge and features more “ooomph” than the previous Candles songs I’ve already featured in the past.

Both songs were composed by the band’s vocalist, Frank Nicolas. You can check out his blog here. All songs were recorded, mixed and mastered at my recording studio, CD Sound Labs. I was the album’s Sound Engineer and Album Producer.

Just in the time of nick!

It’s here! I just got it earlier today! My wife and I have finally completed the stamps (stickers, actually) required on our Starbucks booklet to be able to redeem the “Starbucks Journal” we’ve been eyeing since early December. Today was January 31 is the last day of the promo so I rushed to the nearest branch to avail of it. Just in time! I don’t really use filos and journals such as these since I’ve grown accustomed to my cellphone’s organizer features but, hey, it looks too damn cool and we just had to get our hands on one. Check it out:

I’m not much of a coffee drinker… so you can kinda imagine how much coffee my wife had to down in order to complete the stickers. Bleh! Had we not made it in time… all that coffee she consumed would have been for naught.

She’s had some help though… friends pitched in their Starbucks receipts just in time before my wife could develop caffeinated perspiration! Eck!

Holiday at the Holiday…

On the lighter side of my previous post below (Blowout!), I am posting a few pics taken at the Holiday Inn Resort at Clark, Pampanga, when we dropped by yesterday to pickup my wife.  These were taken by the poolside… not really much to see in the background but what the hell!  Enjoy! 

Blowout!

I left this morning with my kids and my dad to pick up my wife at the Holiday Inn Resort in Angeles, Pampanga.  On our way there, just coming out of the viaduct (that looooong bridge along the NLEX just before the San Fernando exit), my dad and I heard a weird sound coming from the front passenger side.  It sounded as if a piece of plastic was stuck to the front tire and was slapping the road as the wheel turned.  We thought little of it and continued on towards the Angeles and Dau exits.  But as soon as we decided to ignore the problem, the steering wheel started to wobble.  Then it wobbled harder and harder.
