I stumbled upon a really really amusing post written by a co-Filipino blogger that tackles (and enumerates) everything that is wrong with Metro Manila traffic. If you’re a “pinoy” (slang for Filipino), you’ll probably snicker and laugh while reading most it. I guess the reason why you’ll find yourself giggling is due to the fact that you cannot help but admit how true the article is.

Hey, thanks for the trackback! Great blog you have here too. I’ve just dropped by to say that I have updated the list to the 2nd edition, and as usual, it’s been loads of fun to write. Enjoy!
Hello there. Thanks for dropping by! Really found your article fun to read. Yeah, I noticed that you’ve updated your post… I can relate to everything that’s written…
I, too, give in to road rage very easily. Will drop by your blog every now and then! Cheers!
Traffic in Metro Manila is one thing, traffic here in Ozamiz is another. The main mode of public transport are the pedicab and the tricycle. With its narrow streets and sidewalks bursting with vagrant vendors of vegetables and ukay-ukay, it’s already too difficult to navigate. Add to that the most undisciplined pedicab drivers who don’t seem to mind racing with motorized vehicles. An insurance is indispensable. And extra cash too, because you’ll most likely end up paying for the pedicab driver’s hospital bill, too.
Knock on wood.
Oh, I wouldn’t underestimate the lack of discipline of Metro Manila pedicab and tricycle drivers when compared to those in other provinces… you’ve probably lived in Metro Manila once, right? Have you been to the sidestreets of Makati? The back alleys of Manila? Tondo perhaps? Practlically everywhere… Terrible!
I wonder what ever happened to Bayani Fernando’s previous project that prevented vendors to sell along the sidewalks. It worked for sometime… it eased congestion and made the streets pleasurable to the eyes.
Then all of a sudden, THEY’RE BACK! Gulay, Ihaw-Ihaw, Garbage… you name it!
Even pedestrians are a pain in the ass. Jaywalking, kids running across the street with no guardians…!
When you accidentally hit a stupid (pardon my french) pedestrian who obviously was not following traffic regulations, ikaw pa ang may kasalanan! Everything’s wrong. Even the police force (well, not all but most of them) are incompetent… which says a lot about our government as well.
I’ll stop here. I’m starting to get all riled up. It’s a never ending story! >:/
